General Questions about Pet Sitting Software.

  • Is our data backed up in case of an emergency?
    Data is backed up nightly and written to multiple disks instantly. We can perform full backup recovery in the event of a system-wide emergency. Our hardware is also fully redundant so even if one disk or server fails nothing will be lost and the system will not go down.
  • What are the system requirements to use Power Pet Sitter?
    Since Power Pet Sitter is hosted on our servers, there's nothing to install and no server/platform requirements to worry about. All you need is a web browser with and an Internet connection. We highly recommend a high speed connection like DSL or a cable modem and an internet connection. Since we are tightly integrated with QBOE, Power Pet Sitter supports IE, FireFox on PCs and FireFox on the Mac. Check the Intuit website before upgrading your browser to make sure you will compatible with QBOE.
  • Is this a long-term commitment?
    No, everything is month-to-month. If you cancel, you'll be billed for the current month, but you won't be billed again. We do offer a 20% prepayment discount if you want to sign up for 12 months. Give us a call and ask us about it.
  • Can I change plans at any time?
    Yes. Just send us an email and we will increase (or decrease) the number of pet sitters that can use your system.
  • Can we export our data if we don't want to use PowerPetSitter.com anymore? What format is the export in?
    You can export your client data in Excel format.
  • Can we install PowePetSitter on our own server?
    We don't offer desktop versions of PowerPetSitter it is only available as a hosted solution. We maintain the servers, the security, all the updates and improvements so you don't have to worry about anything.
  • Do you provide phone support for your users?
    We provide limited phone support from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, Monday thru Friday but we provide unlimited support via email. We do our best to respond to every email in a timely manner.
  • Do I have to use QuickBooks Online Edition?
    Power Pet Sitter was designed to be used with QuickBooks Online Edition (QBOE). If you chose not to use QBOE, Power Pet Siiter will function as your client management system and scheduling tool.
  • Can I use an Apple Macintosh computer?
    Yes!
  • Where is the server located? Is my data secure?
    Our servers are collocated at Peak 10 carrier-class collocation facilities with fault-tolerant, fully redundant connectivity. All of your communications with Power Pet Sitter are encrypted and all credit card information is further encrypted when it is saved to the database.

Product Functionality

  • Where do custom questions show up?
    Custom questions can be service based and will show up when a client books the service. Custom questions can also be Client base and will be in the client profile.
  • How many questions should I add in my custom questions?
    When adding questions only add a few of the important questions. You do not want to overwhelm your clients.
  • What are time blocks?
    Time blocks are the time a client's appointment show up on your schedule. When creating time blocks make a window of time example: 7am - 11am would be a time block.
  • What should I name my services?
    Name your services the name you use when talking to your clients example: morning walks, midday walks, and evening walks.
  • Can I see my schedule every day?
    You can view your schedule daily, weekly, or monthly. Sitters will receive nightly emails with their schedules for the next day.
  • Can I see all my staffs schedule at a glance?
    Yes, the Admin can see the entire staffs schedule at a glance.
  • Can I manage my sitters by zip code?
    Sitters are set up by zip codes, when a new client books, any sitter in the clients zip code will populate as available to help this client.
  • Why does my sitters name show up in red, when she has no exceptions?
    A sitter will show up if it is the last appointment the sitter can take before the sitter is overbooked.
  • Am I able to establish a recurring schedule?
    Yes, recurring schedules can be set up weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly.
  • What forms of payments can my clients take?
    Our system is set up to take all major credit cards, cash or check.
  • How do I get set up with credit cards?
    We use authorize.net as our gateway. We use and recommend E-Onlinedata - https://www.e-onlinedata.com/powerpetsitter.
  • Can I write notes in the client section that the client will not see?
    Yes, notes can be put in the system and clients will not have access to them. Notes can also be put in the system and sitters cannot have access to them. Just office or admin.
  • In the services set up, what is an add-on?
    Add-ons our additional services that relate to the service. For example, add on insulin shots, stay longer etc...
